City-Wide Support for our Coast Guard Community

Businesses participating in the program have these stickers on display.

The U.S. Coast Guard Vinyl Program was created in 2017, a collaboration between the Sault EDC, the Downtown Development Authority, local businesses, and the U.S. Coast Guard Community Integration Committee with the shared goal of showing city-wide support for the Coast Guard in the Sault. Now entering its third year, over 60 businesses participate in the program, including restaurants, retail stores, hair salons, gyms, and mechanics, all of whom provide discounts and special rates unique to active duty Coast Guard members.

A few examples of offers include 10% off the total bill at Frank’s Place restaurant, a 10% discount at Solomon’s Tattoo Parlor, and 50% off mug club membership at the Soo Brewing Company. Discounts are conferred upon the presentation of a valid USCG ID, and can be applied to every visit. The EDC is happy to unveil an even larger list this year, including new participants Austin’s Cigar Lounge, Phat Boutique, and The Art Store.

Craig Cooper is the owner of Austin's Cigar Lounge, one of the new businesses participating in the program.

“We’re really excited to continue this program into the new year,” said Jeff Holt, Executive Director of the Sault EDC. “The Coast Guard is a huge part of our community, and we’re happy to be part of a program that shows city-wide support.”

A comprehensive list of U.S. Coast Guard Vinyl Program participants and offers is available here. This list is continuously updated, so be sure to keep an eye out for any new deals.

There is no cost to participate, and in return, businesses receive free promotion through the program. Participants are accepted on a rolling basis. If you own a business and would like to learn more, please contact us at gsmith@saultcity.com or call (906) 635-9131.
